Planning a wedding involves many hassles when you are trying to create that perfect ceremonial memory. Doing the planning on your own requires lots of patience and decisions that will soon be replaced with a beautiful day to celebrate. You and your significant other will need to gather and plan details such as the wedding theme, color theme, food theme, and wedding memories. Here is a guide to help you stay focused when planning your own wedding.

Planning the Wedding Theme

Every culture has their own way of marriages, but here in America, people tend to venture out and try new things, such as a wedding theme outside of their own culture. For example, a Japanese, Thai, or Indian traditional wedding would be unique to an American. Your wedding theme will also include the place, colors, food, and music. Choosing your favorite theme means sacrificing as well if your spouse disagrees with your choices. Do not let this stress you out because whatever you choose will only feel great if you put your heart into it. If you go against your own plans and complain your entire wedding day about how the flowers were arranged, your special day will become your worst day ever to have memories of.

Choosing Your Color Theme

First, talk with your soon to be husband about what colors he refuses to wear. Sometimes men feel too feminine in colors such as pink or purple. It is usually the woman’s choice of color that is planned, but making your husband feel comfortable can really count. When choosing your colors, it is best to keep it simple. Too many colors can cause a chaotic and disorganized look. It is best to choose no more than three colors for your color theme.

What to Choose for Your Food Theme

When in doubt, go simple. It is hard to please a crowd, especially when you are using food to do so. Most people may not complain, but you will always have someone who will. When doing taste tests, stay away from spicy foods unless you are going with an Indian theme or similar culture theme that eats spicy foods. Condiments can usually be included with meals, so do not worry too much about creating a hot off the grill taste that does not need more flavoring. Instead, choose grilled or baked chicken with simple flavoring. Except for veggie eaters you can hardly go wrong with chicken. Keep snacks and finger foods easy, like crackers and cheese, cheeseballs, small deli sandwiches, and drinks. As long as you have food, your guests will be satisfied.

Enhance Your Wedding Memories

After the wedding as husband and wife, be sure that you will be spending your time together creating memories that last a lifetime. You do not want to look back and wish you did things different. If you are very family oriented, give your own family and your new married family their time well spent. Make them feel special. After all you will be seeing them the rest or your life. Make the most of your wedding by enjoying the music and special moments together. After the wedding, on your honeymoon, be sure that you have it all planned to go as smoothly as possible. Hire people who will take care of all the work, such as chauffeur, cook, sleeping in a hotel, and going to spas to get special treatment.

Whoever plans your wedding, just ensure its uniqueness to your own tastes. It is the memories that are put into the wedding before, the day of, and after the wedding that make it special. Have fun, and relax on your special day when you follow this guide to plan your own wedding.
